Accreditation and Exemption

The Professional Diploma programme in Translation and Interpretation previously offered by the College until the academic year 1997/1998 has been accredited by a number of renowned tertiary institutions in Australia and UK. On the basis of the institutional credit transfer arrangements, graduates of the Professional Diploma in Translation and Interpretation Programme have been eligible for completion of the corresponding on-campus Bachelor degree programmes within one or two years.

Now, the Higher Diploma Programme has also gained international recognition. A substantial number of tertiary institutions in the United Kingdom and Australia allow graduates of the Programme direct entry status via credit transfer arrangements which enable them to obtain an undergraduate degree on campus within one to two years.

United Kingdom

University Articulation Arrangement
Middlesex University Graduates will be able to enter the final year of Bachelor of Arts Degree in Translation provided that (a) they have obtained a grade of 65% or above and (b) they satisfy the University's English Language requirements.
University of Portsmouth Graduates would be accepted as direct entry students on the final year of:
  • BA (Hons) English Studies;
  • BA (Hons) International Trade and English. (IELTS 6.0 required).

Locally, the Open University of Hong Kong also accredited the professional Diploma in Translation and Interpretation Programme and awarded block credits to its graduates towards completion of the University's undergraduate degree in a related discipline of study.
