Introduction
The BA (Hons) Global Marketing programme is offered by the University
of Huddersfield in collaboration with the Centre for Advanced & Professional
Studies (CAPS) at Caritas Francis Hsu College. The 'top-up' programme
offered in Hong Kong, as that in the UK, is targeted for holders of recognized
diplomas to enable them to obtain the degree by completion of only 6 modules
(120 credits) via part-time study within two years.
The degree course offered in Hong Kong is identical in content and in academic standing to that
offered to students who choose to take it as full-time students based at the University in the UK.
It is delivered by Huddersfield staff, with local tutor support, and is designed to take into account
Hong Kong's promising environment for marketing and enormous opportunities for business.

Programme Aims
Marketing is absolutely central to the commercial effectiveness of the modern organisation.
This is true whether the organisation is a profit oriented business or a not for profit
organisation e.g. a public sector organisation. In fact in the highly competitive business
environment of the 21st century organisations of all types strive to become 'marketing oriented'
and seek to secure a competitive advantage through the employment of innovative and creative
marketing strategies. Today's market place is not just international but truly global in nature.
Hence future marketing managers working within such an environment will need to have a global
outlook and the necessary skills to compete in the global marketplace.
This programme seeks to develop such an outlook and provide such skills in those graduating
with the BA (Hons) Global Marketing. Organisations are seeking potential marketing managers who
have the vision, creativity and business acumen to direct and manage their global marketing efforts.
There are enormous opportunities for graduates with the right skills and competences to secure highly
paid and rewarding employment in global marketing in commercial and non commercial organisations located
world wide.
In order to offer these world wide global marketing employment opportunities the Department
of Management and Marketing at the Huddersfiled University Business School has created a unique
programme. Its aim is to provide a broad based global marketing education to students from a wide
range of backgrounds and qualifications, but who have already studied a substantial amount of marketing
at the introductory and intermediate levels. Candidates are expected to be fully committed to a career
in global marketing and who are seeking a specific, named qualification in global marketing management
and hence graduate status to enable them to achieve their career aspirations.
