Words from Graduates2003/2004 Graduate of Translation and Interpretation Higher Diploma Program
The program not only provides students with both theoretical and practical knowledge in relation to translation and interpretation, but also introduces ethical issues to students. When it comes to lectures, most students find them really dull. To my surprise, lecturers of the Language Studies Department know how to juice up a boring subject. They can make a dry lecture vivid and fun-filled in order to catch students’ attention. Life is not always all roses. During my studies at CFHC, I have encountered a great deal of learning difficulties. One of the examples was that my weak language foundation slowed my learning progress down. Fortunately, my eagerness to learn, as a motivational force, helped me move forward and get through all the hard times. Not only I have learned how to deal with adversity, but also I have sharpened my way of thinking. Many students think hard work is bitter, but only a few
know its fruit is sweet. I always remind myself that mere good reputation,
as such, does not take me far; only hard work does. This summer, I will
have completed the program and obtained an opportunity to continue my
studies in the UK. I cannot thank my teachers enough for their patience
and above all, their tremendous effort. At last, I wish to give heartfelt
gratitude to them for placing and helping me on the path for this academic
journey, for sharing your thoughts, and for your words and immense impact
on my studies.
