The Institute currently offers two Associate Degree (AD) programmes:

  1. Associate of Social Science in Social Work

  2. Associate of Social Science in Social Work (Part-time Mode)

The AD programmes were validated by the Hong Kong Council for Accreditation of Academic and Vocational Qualifications (HKCAAVQ) and they are taken to be comparable in standing and standard with other AD programmes offered at tertiary institutions in Hong Kong and overseas.

　

Associate of Social Science in Social Work

The Associate of Social Science in Social Work (ASSSW) Programme is offered by the Department of Social Sciences. The Programme aims at equipping students with the essential knowledge and skills for effective delivery of social work services. The Programme also aims at enabling students to develop a caring attitude and social work values which would lead to the qualities of caring for the deprived and needy, with a commitment to social responsibility, community building and social justice. A holistic education will be provided to students for enhancement of their personal integrity and capacity as competent human service professionals.

The Programme is designed to lay a strong foundation for students in both theories and practice relating to social work, social science knowledge and its application, and to prepare them for entry into a diverse range of social work settings. To provide students with a broad and enriched learning experience and to enhance their intellectual and personal development, the Programme also includes General Education (GE) and different required courses in the curriculum.
